Jesus Outside Planned Parenthood

Sunday December 14, 2003, was an ordinary Sunday at Planned Parenthood in Ann Arbor, or so it seemed. The escorts were there as usual  awaiting the arrival of people so convicted that they would come out into the bitter cold of December and begin to pray for this clinic of death to be transformed into a heaven of life. As the faithful gathered outside the clinic they began to pray the rosary to the Mother of Life, begging for her intercession.

Those praying know that just behind the “white line” there are the bodies of babies lying forgotten and forsaken in the garbage.  As the snow fell onto the faces of those praying, they recalled the many times they came and prayed for these babies and their parents for the last 30 years, and yet the slaughtering continues. They stay faithfully in their prayer knowing that Christ will be victorious one day, but until then they must persist in defending these little ones and their parents.

As the final Ave was complete a white caravan pulled forward and the doors opened. A priest stepped out with his acolytes, a deacon and the most precious of all, a little golden case.  Father Gawronski walked down the drive towards Planned Parenthood and once he reached an altar set up outside, he opened the golden case and pulled out what appeared to be a little white host, but in reality was the King of the Universe. Jesus Christ, body, blood, soul and divinity humbled Himself for love of us and our children, even those forsaken by our nation. At this moment every knee bent in homage and love for our Savior. At that moment the reality of all those years spent outside the doors of this Planned Parenthood for many were reaffirmed and made glorious by Christ's real presence there.

Father held Jesus high and blessed Planned Parenthood. The escorts looked on blindly. The fate of that abortion mill was sealed: it can not continue as it is, Jesus will answer our prayer, He will shut it down! Then Father turned with Jesus and blessed the people flooding their hearts and souls with the grace to continue, to persevere no matter what happens that he will be victorious!

The Planned Parenthood in Ann Arbor is not closed yet, but since that day in December the number of people praying outside its doors continues to increase.  It won’t be long…
